The sermon was from the book of Proverbs chapter 6.

She asks Siyacela to join her for church. We see Thando cleaning up on a Sunday morning as well as preparing Sunday lunch. The young couple refutes these claims, Thando asks the uncle about who will look after the baby and Siyacela says he just cannot afford to have a child since he has no money. Siyacela’s uncle also joins in on the conversation asking about how far is Thando, insinuating that she is pregnant. Siyacela’s father also reminds Siyacela that he is not ready for another wife because that will require him to be able to satisfy two women when he can barely wake up in the morning to go look for a job. However, as time passes by he is becoming less interested. Siyacela also speaks about how he was excited about lovemaking at the beginning of his marriage to Thando. He further alludes that for a man in a polygamous marriage, that man dies before his physical death. Siyacela’s father also shares how difficult it is to have more than one wife. His father bursts his bubble very quickly by reminding him that he needs to be financially stable to afford more than one wife. He even imagines having two or more wives. Siyacela is still adamant about getting a second wife (isithembu). Siyacela on the other hand has no aspirations whatsoever to further his studies. He also tells his father that he will not allow Thando to stay at University Res so the best for her is to study through correspondence. Siyacela informs his father that Thando is doing very well in school with her studies. The father and son also talk about how Thando is doing. Siyacela tells his father that he feels that nothing has changed for him because he still has to respect his elders. In this episode, we watch Siyacela and his father have a conversation about life in marriage.
