When I put a CD in and it autoruns, it comes up with a Setup Wizard and I tell it to install, it says there is a driver already installed and to please uninstall before trying to load other and wont proceed. I have one WinME computer that I NEED to have connected. When I counted devices and found the 4 of them that DONT have any version number on them, I sort of leaned toward they are the ones that SHOULD work on the WinME machines. I havent yet specifically compared MAC numbers on the boxes to MAC number on the devices to see which came in what box. The other 4 boxes dont show any specific required OS. 6 boxes have a logo on them indicating ∿or Win2000 and WinXP ONLY.

I have found 10 boxes that are still around and I have identified two versions of boxes that these things came in. I havent messed with it.) I was not involved with the original installation of these devices, so now I REALLY have no idea WHICH drivers disks came with WHICH device and WHAT drivers got loaded on WHICH machines. (The one device with a v4 on it is on a WINXP machine and hasnt been a problem. These WinME computers seem to better tolerate specifically the devices that are NOT labeled with the v2 after the regular number, but they HAVE worked with the v2 version. 4 of them are labeled WUSB54G, 1 is labeled WUSB54G v4 and the other 11 are labeled WUSB54G v2. I havent figured out if there is a programmable/update-able? firmware version on each of these USB wireless devices, but I finally figured out to look closely at each adapter. I have gotten them to work intermittently but not dependably. They should stay fine if they dont get messed with. I have 4 machines that are running WinME. I know, If it is working, just dont mess with it. In my reading of other posts here about these connectors, I see that I am not the only one that gets a new device detected and installed with the same device but plugged into a different USB port on the same computer.

Other than each user having to mess with the connection manager too much, they are OK. They seem to work fine with any of these adapters. I have 12 computers that are running WinXP-home. I THINK I should use a 'No Version' device with the Ver1 driver. Connecting to a Linksys WRT54G Router, if that matters. Which drivers should I try (be) using for WinME, and which version of device should I be using? I have about 16 of these devices and at least 3 different Versions. Some of this might seem a little like a rant, but I am looking for some suggestions. Operating systems supported: Windows, XP 32/64, Vista 32/64, and Windows 7 32/ WUSB54G v4.
